Governed data for longevity research.
BioAge LabsAs fractional Data Architect, then Head of Engineering and Infrastructure, built the data integration, architecture, and governance behind a longevity research collaboration with Novartis.
The challenge
A research collaboration with Novartis brings together data from multiple parties, in different formats and under strict compliance expectations. To make that data usable for research, it has to be integrated, governed, and trustworthy, without slowing the science down.
What I did
I joined fractionally as Data Architect, defining the data architecture and governance for the Novartis research collaboration and leading the integration of multiple data sources into assets researchers could rely on. As the engagement grew I took on the Head of Engineering and Infrastructure role, leading the engineering, data, and cloud platforms more broadly. The emphasis throughout was on compliant, well-governed data that served the research rather than getting in its way.
Outcomes
- Integrated multi-source research data into governed, usable assets.
- Defined the data architecture and governance for a multi-party collaboration.
- Kept compliance front and center in a regulated research setting.
- Grew from a focused data mandate into broader engineering leadership.
